INSECTICIDAL MECHANISM OF LIN-MA (METARHIZIUM ANISOPLIAE)

The effective component of Metarhizium is conidium. Conidia adhere to the pest, then the hyphae invade and grow rapidly in the pest body, invading various tissue through blood and lymph circulation. Toxins are secreted, effecting the pest’s central nervous system and destroying the integrity of the cell structure. Consequently, the pest will die because of tissue dehydration.


The hyphae in dead pests can extend out of the body and produce conidia. Conidia continue to infect other insects through contact infection or wind diffusion, causing repeated infections in pest population.


In general, when some of the pests are infected, more and more their family members and friends will be easily brought under control.

Application of Metarhizium anisopliae OD in seed soaking

Dilute the Metarhizium anisopliae OD with water by 100-200 times, and after stirring evenly, remove the oil slick on the surface, then put in the seeds, soak the seeds for 4-6 hours, remove them to dry, and then promote germination and sowing.

The crops that can be used for seed soaking are mainly vegetable seeds such as melons and nightshades.

Precautions:
1) After the oil suspension agent is mixed with water, there will be a small amount of oil slick, which can affect the germination, and the oil slick should be removed;
2) When soaking seeds, the seeds can be placed in a gauze bag for seed soaking, which is convenient for operation;
3) The water temperature of the dilution water should not be too high, and it is advisable to feel no heat by hand;
4) Every 1-2h, stir and mix well;
5) Properly extend the soaking time for new seeds

Application of Metarhizium anisopliae OD in seed dressing

Before sowing, the Metarhizium anisopliae OD is diluted to a certain concentration by secondary dilution to make a seed dressing solution.
After dressing, put it in a cool and ventilated place, and dry it before sowing.
