Mamestra brassicae nuclear polyhedrosis virus is a highly effective, broad-spectrum insect virus insecticide. It has overcome
disadvantages of single-target, slow and unstable field application of conventional virus products such as Helicoverpa Armigera nuclear polygonal virus.
After spraying on crops, when insects eat the leaves which contain those viruses, it will invade gut epidermis of insects. Then the viruses will replicate in the bodies of insects, and let them stop feeding and finally fully to transform into liquid to death.
The bodies of insects will contain a large number of active virus particles which can continue to infect other insects and cause insecticidal viral epidemic disease in field. In this way, the aim of insecticidal pestilence and persistent pest control is achieved.
