Tea saponin test to control nematodes

After 16 hours of Tea Saponin exposure, the five tested nematodes, H. oryzae, D.destructor, B.xylophilus, M. incognita 2 instar larvae and Rhbiditis sp, began to die.

The mortality rate increased with exposure time and Tea Saponin concentration. The highest mortality rate of Rhbiditis sp was 6.5%, which was inactive, indicating that Tea Saponin had moderate killing activity against plant parasitic nematodes tested.

It has no nematicidal activity against non-plant parasitic nematodes, and has positive significance for the ecological protection of soil flora.

In another test, Tea Saponin can also inhibit the formation of root knots of melon wilt, and has a good anti-infection activity.
